Dear Susan Davis,
I am writing to you to inform you of the easy changes that could be made due to switching to renewable energy. But I would first like to thank you for all that you have done for us. Like I really appreciated how you have helped low income schools by having high qualified teachers teach at their schools because I think that it is really important for kids like me to have a good education. I also appreciate that you made a stand towards drilling in the Arctic.
But as the rest of your cases, I’m sure people have spoke up to you and asked you to help them with problems that are going on in our community and in our world. Just as those people spoke up to you about their problems, I would like to write to you about mine. My case is a case about renewable energy. Since my fellow classmates and I are going to be part of the future, we want to be able to have the same environment that we have today. If we take a stand about this today we won’t have to struggle to survive without non-renewable energy sources in the future because by switching to renewable energy sources, we won’t be using up a lot of nonrenewable sources, leaving enough for future generations.
You can help our world with this problem by enforcing a law that forces businesses to run off of a percentage of renewable energy. You can make this law happen by giving those businesses tax cuts. That will help change the idea of using renewable energy sources in their business. Another way you can help is to enforce a law that a percentage of the landfill be used for biomass. Because some of that we don’t need, so we might as well put it to good use and use it for our energy.
I hope that you will consider doing something about this because I’m sure that people in the future will thank you gratefully.
Sincerely, Madison Cahill

Dear Susan Davis,
I am writing to you to inform you of the advantages about switching to renewable energy. But I would first like to thank you for all that you have done for us. Like I really appreciated how you helped low income schools by having high qualified teachers teach at their schools because I think that it is really important for kids like me to have a good education. Whether they go to a low income school or not. Because with a good education they can do anything they want with their life, and they won’t be getting held back by lack of education. I also appreciate that you made a stand towards drilling in the Arctic. I just want to thank you and show you great gratitude for that. But as the rest of your cases, I’m sure people have spoke up to you and asked you to help them with problems that are going on in our community and in our world. Just as those people spoke to you about their problems, I would like to write to you about mine. My case is a case about renewable energy. Since my fellow classmates and I are going to be part of the future, we want to be able to have the same environment that we have today. Because we ant our children, grandchildren, and so on, have a beautiful environment also.
Switching to renewable energy has a lot of benefits. Like our future will be a cleaner, prettier place. And also things like we won’t have to struggle to survive without non-renewable energy sources because by switching to renewable energy sources, we won’t be using up a lot of nonrenewable sources, leaving enough for future generations.
If we don’t switch to renewable energy sources now, our world will start peeling apart. Starting with the polar bears and penguins. Their environment will be destroyed, causing them to become extinct. We want all of our animal species to stay forever, so the future generations will be able to experience and learn about these animals. But after global warming strikes the animals, it will harm humans. Not like physically hurting us, but I mean like people with asthma. The air will change and not be so clean which will make living and breathing harder for people with athsma.
So I just wanted to inform you about the trouble that this is going to make to our world. I hope that you will consider doing something about this because I’m sure that people in the future will thank you greatfully.
Sincerely, Madison Cahill

Feeling like a Freak
Well everyone in some time of their life have felt like Freak. Some more than others, but everyone has felt it and witnessed it in some part of their life. There have been times when I have felt like a freak myself. For example: I used to play soccer when i was little. The event I'm about to tell you about happened when i was about 5 years old. We were having one of our games, and that day I played goalie. I wasn't a very good goalie, in fact, i didn't even like soccer. I just did it because Dylan did. So during the games I would get real bored. Same when I was goalie. I was getting really bored. So I was picking flowers and playing with butterflies and such. Whenever the ball came near the net, i never had enough time to catch it before it went in because i was distracted. And even when i wasn't distracted, i still didn't catch the ball, i would just flinch because I though it was going to hit me. So that day i never caught the ball. So after the game all of the other 5 year olds on my team came up and started calling me names like
"stupid" (which hurt my feelings when i was little) and yelling at me because i never caught the ball. They made me very sad. After that season I decided to never play soccer again!
I have witnessed things like this a lot at school. People have made fun of people for their hobbies, looks, friends, clothes, family life, etc. The list can go on for a while. I have been around friends who get called names a lot. I can just see the look in their face after they have been offended, and I can just feel their pain. It makes you feel like sad, and embarrassed and it makes those people feel self conscience. For example, if somebody makes fun if your clothes, and you thought that they were very stylish, it makes you feel like, does everybody think this about me? And sometimes the people change themselves so the won't be made fun of. Like the person who was made fun of their clothes, they would go and get new clothes that they don't enjoy wearing, or are uncomfortable in.
Although I have witnessed this, I know I have caused this pain sometimes throughout the years. But after I do it, and I see that pain in their eyes, I feel really bad and I end up regretting it. So I can't even imagine what Freak gets called, and how self conscience he is about himself. That is why it is important to have a true friend. Like Mighty will end up being to Freak. :D

Freak And Mighty
We have just started reading freak the mighty and it seems like a very interesting book. We have learned about both Freak and Mighty. First we drew pictures to show what we thought Mighty looked like. I drew a picture and wrote words describing what i think about when I picture him. The picture above is very similar to the one I drew to show Mighty. I thought that some words that described Mighty were: Tough, Baby, Little, Evil, Mad, Temperamental, Strong, Big Boy, and Bulky. Those are some of the words that popped up into my mind when I pictured Mighty. We then read more and the book started introducing a new character named Freak. For Freak we also drew pictures and wrote words describing him. Below is similar to the picture I drew of Freak.
Although This picture is similar to the one I drew. It isn't exactly the same, Because the one I drew had crutches. But as you can see this picture is much different than the one of Mighty. We also were introduced to four more characters. Three on Mighty's side, and one on Freak's side. The first characters we were introduced to out of the four were Grams and Grims, Mighty's grandparents. When we were reading about them I pictured Grams to be very old and to love cooking for some reason, and I pictured Grims like Mighty. Very strong and Tough. So here are some more pictures that were similar to the ones that I drew of Grams and Grims. :D
After we learned a little about Grams and Grims we were introduced to even more characters. There was "HIM" and Gwen of Air. "Him" was Mighty's dad. But Grams and Grims never called him by his name because of something he had done. So they called him "him". There was also Gwen Of Air which was Freak's mom. She was described as beautiful. Here are pictures of what I think Gwen Of Air and HIM looked like. :]
Although this picture is a little bit over exaggerant, it still is what I sorta thought he looked like. We haven't learned about any other characters yet, but we will soon, so I will be adding more characters on later!

Bad Girls - Chapter 1
I chose this book because first the title hooked me when it said "Bad Girls" because it seemed like a book I might be interested in. So then I read the back which hooked me even more. The back explained how the 2 girls were new to the school and they want to start trouble together and how they knew that they were friends when they first met.
Well the author of the book is a woman who based the book on a person she knew. Well actually the book wasn't really based on the girl, the girl she wrote about just inspired her. In fact, the girl she wrote the book about was the total opposite of the book. She was a nice and kind girl who never got into any trouble. But that is why she wrote her book. Because it would be more interesting to readers to hear a story about bad girls, other than another story about good ones. So this is how her story started. But I don't know what message she will be trying to get across to her readers yet because I am not to the turning point in the story yet.
