Final Draft Of Letter To Susan Davis

Dear Susan Davis,

I am writing to you to inform you of the easy changes that could be made due to switching to renewable energy. But I would first like to thank you for all that you have done for us. Like I really appreciated how you have helped low income schools by having high qualified teachers teach at their schools because I think that it is really important for kids like me to have a good education. I also appreciate that you made a stand towards drilling in the Arctic.
But as the rest of your cases, I’m sure people have spoke up to you and asked you to help them with problems that are going on in our community and in our world. Just as those people spoke up to you about their problems, I would like to write to you about mine. My case is a case about renewable energy. Since my fellow classmates and I are going to be part of the future, we want to be able to have the same environment that we have today. If we take a stand about this today we won’t have to struggle to survive without non-renewable energy sources in the future because by switching to renewable energy sources, we won’t be using up a lot of nonrenewable sources, leaving enough for future generations.
You can help our world with this problem by enforcing a law that forces businesses to run off of a percentage of renewable energy. You can make this law happen by giving those businesses tax cuts. That will help change the idea of using renewable energy sources in their business. Another way you can help is to enforce a law that a percentage of the landfill be used for biomass. Because some of that we don’t need, so we might as well put it to good use and use it for our energy.
I hope that you will consider doing something about this because I’m sure that people in the future will thank you gratefully.

Sincerely, Madison Cahill
